Stuart is a specialist in procurement and supply with extensive strategic and operational experience across a broad range of business sectors, categories and operating models. For example, Stuart has worked in the oil and gas, utilities, pharmaceutical, FMCG, engineering, automotive, construction and industrial services sectors.
More recently, Stuart has successfully applied his private sector experience in three high profile public sector organisations: Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy (BEIS), Transport for London and Westminster City Council. He has extensive experience in building and leading teams, setting up and leading a range of major change programmes, hands-on negotiations for multi-million pound contracts, and has extensive practical experience in designing, implementing and operating effective category management regimes.
Stuart started his corporate career as a graduate trainee at Lucas and operated at every level including Global Group Procurement Director before becoming an independent consultant. He has worked at a wide range of blue-chip organisations including: Hawker Siddeley, Smithkline Beecham, Wyeth Pharmaceuticals, SGB Group Ltd (industrial services and construction), National Grid and BG Group. He is a graduate of, and Member of, the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (MCIPS) and a PRINCE II registered practitioner.
